Default Genetic defect found in a few kids with autism

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/10/health/research/09cnd-autism.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

This New York Times article talks about a specific genetic defect
affecting about 1% of kids with autism. Obviously, it does not explain
all the cases or even most. However, it does offer places to look to
understand the genesis of autism.
